As we turn our attention to spring and the promise of new beginnings that it offers, we are excited in the College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources (CAHNR) about our new beginnings in the college. We have several new faces on our leadership team and we are eager to introduce you to them. First, our new dean, Dr. Indrajeet Chaubey, joined the college on March 1, 2019. Dean Chaubey brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from Purdue University where he was an associate dean for international programs and a former department head of the Purdue Water Community. Second, we are pleased to have Ms. Alicia Huckle join CAHNR as assistant dean and director of the college budget office. Alicia comes to CAHNR from the UConn Institute for Materials Science where she managed their budget for the past two years. Finally, we also are thrilled to have Ms. Virginia White joining the leadership team as the dean’s admin- istrative service assistant. Most recently, Ginny served in the UConn Office of the Provost for the past three years. The three associate deans remain the same: Mike O’Neill, associate dean for extension, Sandy Bushmich, associate dean for academic programs and Kumar Venkitanarayanan, associate dean for research and graduate education. The leadership team is quickly getting to know one another and they continue to pursue opportunities to advance the teach- ing, research and engagement missions of the college. Please be sure to welcome the new members of our leadership team and we encourage you to visit the college and get to know our team.
